Ingredients

  • Catfish fillets: 4 pieces
  • Olive oil or melted butter: 2 tablespoons
  • Cajun or blackening seasoning: 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon wedges: For serving

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Small Bowl or Plate
  • Basting Brush
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Brush each catfish fillet with the olive oil or melted butter.
  3. Generously sprinkle blackening seasoning on both sides of the fillets.
  4. Place the fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  5. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping the fillets halfway through.
  6. The fish is done when it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary for crispy results.
Melted butter yields a richer, darker blackened crust than olive oil.
This dish pairs well with rice pilaf or steamed green beans.
