  • 1 package (14 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts) The flaky outer layer that holds everything together.

Method
 

  1. Prepare the dough by rolling out the refrigerated pie crusts to about 1/8 inch thickness and cut out 8-10 circles.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Add onion and garlic, cooking until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in spices and cook for another minute. Mix in olives and parsley, then cool the filling.
  3. Assemble the empanadas by placing 2 tablespoons of filling on each dough circle, fold, and seal the edges. Crimp with a fork for decoration.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush the empanadas with beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
