Ingredients

Shrimp
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Large Skillet

Method

  1. Prepare the shrimp by ensuring they are peeled and deveined. Place the shrimp in a bowl and sprinkle Cajun seasoning over them. Toss gently until evenly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn opaque and curl slightly. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce, bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Add cooked shrimp and drained noodles to the skillet with the sauce, toss gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
