Method
 

  1. Gather all your ingredients including pecan halves, granulated sugar, unsalted butter, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Prepare your cooking equipment: a medium saucepan, a baking sheet, and parchment paper.
  3. In the medium saucepan, add the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, heavy cream, and salt. Stir over medium heat until it comes to a gentle boil.
  4. Once boiling, stop stirring and let it cook for 5 minutes until it reaches the soft ball stage (235°F).
  5. Remove from heat and add the toasted pecans and vanilla extract. Stir well.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Allow the pralines to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes before enjoying.
