- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Then, sprinkle in the breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, thyme, onion powder, and red pepper flakes if desired. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a lined baking sheet.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and golden-brown.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer. After baking, transfer the meatballs to the skillet and allow them to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
