Method
- Slice the onion into thin rings and soak in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat the soaked onion rings in the seasoned flour, then dip back into buttermilk and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F and fry the onion rings for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving warm.
