Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • electric mixer
  • Medium Bowl
  • spatula

Method

  1. Prepare your baking pan by greasing a 9x5-inch loaf pan with unsalted butter and sprinkling flour over it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 50-60 minutes.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
