  • 1 pound ground beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

  1. Prep all ingredients by slicing the onion and bell peppers, and mincing the garlic.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, and cook the ground beef for 8-10 minutes until browned.
  3. Sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers in the same skillet for 5-7 minutes, then add garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream, and mix with the meat and vegetables. Add half of the provolone and mozzarella cheeses and stir until melted.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, top with remaining cheeses, and bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving.
