- Gather all ingredients: pecans, sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Prepare your cooking area with a large skillet, medium saucepan, and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, heavy cream, and salt. Stir gently.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils. Once boiling, stop stirring and cook for 4-5 minutes until it reaches soft ball stage (235°F).
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and fold in toasted pecans.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each scoop.
- Allow the pralines to cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
